Wine and Whine.

We talked the children into going on another trip out with the promise of dinner at the end of it.
If it was up to them, they would have spent 95% of the holiday on their phones, in their bedrooms and the other 5% in the pool.
Today was definitely not a pool day; heavy showers and a distinct nip in the air.
Selfishly, we dragged the children out at 2.15.
(2.15!!! 'I thought we were going out for dinner???') and went to St Emilion. A beautiful town, full of history and a major centre of wine production around here.
There was a fair bit of whinging and whining when they realised they had to walk around for a bit before they could eat.
Then there was a bit more whinging and whining while we went from restaurant to restaurant looking for somewhere selling anything suitable for Lady Poppy to eat....
Eventually we found somewhere which was really good but HORRENDOUSLY expensive for what it was. I imagine we were paying for the beautiful setting and amazing views which seems fair enough.
it was actually a fantastic day and probably one of the highlights of the holiday for me.
We are watching the weather with interest and if tomorrow is another wash out, will probably pack up and start heading North a day early.

A couple of extras of the town.
