On the pond
Our usual Thursday early morning circuit of the St Ives Estate in glorious sunshine. Blue skies and warmth in the sun but with a heavy dew it still had a bit of an autumnal feel.
Finishing up at Coppice Pond as usual there was a lovely sparkle on the water as the ducks came streaming to the feeding station- extra. The two cygnets are almost adult size but the parents were still with them. One juvenile duckling perhaps one of the two I saw about three weeks ago and four tiny ones appeared with their mother.
Wilsden Walker saw seven earlier in the week and she has done a similar blip today. Amongst my mainly rubbish shots of the fast moving little ones I was amazed to find this half decent one.
Posting early as we are off to Ilkley this afternoon. Could have waited to take something there but the duckling has to be today's star.
(This place of course could easily have made it to the 'somewhere to take someone from out of town' Challenge,as could Ilkley, but were only allowed 2)
