Corsair
It was still a bit grey and cool this morning, so we gave the park a miss and instead made the most of Wednesday tours of the Arctic Corsair, a former deep sea trawler that has been converted to a museum. I recommend a visit. We had ninety minutes being shown around the nooks and crannies of the ship by a former Merchant Navy man, with our guide bringing the fierce working conditions to life.
The Corsair is soon to be lifted for repairs before returning to a dry dock location further up river. Apparently the current location is contributing to the silting up of the River Hull and the Environment Agency want it out and the river dredged as a flood counter measure. Hopefully the Redshanks that I spotted will find other mud to dine in.
We've now returned home and the kids have gone back to their Mum's. I'm back to work for a couple of days then another mini-break to the homeland.
