A Bumpy Nap

Most people give me a strange look when I say I often take a nap on the bus. This young bus driver would ask, "What else am I supposed to do on the bus?"

If I were to guess, Mom was the ticket collector, and Grandpa was driving the bus, so our sleeping angel was just along for the ride. Little beads of sweat formed on her forehead, but she seemed to sleep peacefully as the bus bumped its way down the road and jerked through traffic. The basket beside her held some snacks and a stuffed animal. And yes, she really is just a foot from the front window, where we can see motorcycles and other traffic going by.

The silver anklet (sometimes made of gold or thread and often with a bell connected to it) is worn by many kids in Buddhist families. It is commonly believed that the anklet keeps away bad spirits and brings good luck to the baby or child.
