Fife Coastal Path
This section of the coastal path just happens to run alongside Kingsbarns Golf Links where I have spent a wonderful day watching the final round of the Ricoh Women's British Open.
I have to confess this is the first time I have spectated at a women's golf tournament, only having ever watched it on TV, but with Kingsbarns being only a half hour drive from home and being a beautiful morning it proved the right place to be.
I knew these top women players were impressive but to see them in action and so close by was a treat - I am not sure there are many sports where you can get so close to the top players as in golf.
Being Scotland it was no surprise that the good weather didn't last all day and the brollies were out in the late afternoon but it didn't seem to affect the golf much as the Korean In-Kyung Kim with a six shot lead going into the final round managed to hold off fabulous final rounds by Jodi Shadoff and Michelle Wie to win the competition.
Unfortunately I cannot post any photos of these lovely ladies as live play photography is not permitted but I have sneaked in a couple of extras showing bits of the course when no players were around !
