I read an article a while ago about weight fluctuation. This chap, writing for the Guardian, weighed himself every hour for two or three days and recorded these extraordinary fluctuations. At the end of the article, he recommended that if you're dieting, to weigh yourself every day and then work out a weekly trend.

So this is what I do; I weigh myself daily and work out an average for the week on Mondays to give myself a trend. As long as each week is lower than the week before, I'm happy. But the fluctuations from day to day can be quite wild. My average weight last week was 95.1 kilos but this week it's ranged from 95.8 to, today, 93.6.

I know this measurement is an outlier but, even so, it made my day. I will get down here properly soon and then I will have lost two stone! (Probably with one left to go.)

I took today's photo in Morecambe while I was waiting for Dan to finish work. For some reason, no matter how spritely I feel when I leave work, I fancy a nap when I get home, whether I've driven to Kirkby Lonsdale or down to the Minx's. Today, though, I had to pick up Milly and Abi, drop Milly at her boyfriend's, go shopping with Abi, and then collect Dan.

It was seven o'clock by the time we got home and, happily, that was when the Minx and miniMinx arrived, too. I was happy to forgo my nap and crack open a bottle of fizz.
