Festival Organ Recital

Time once again for George Wilson, our church Director of Music, to give his annual organ recital, entitled, as always, Bach and the Dance of God, in Canongate Kirk (but on this organ, not the splendid Mason and Hamlin photographed here), also for George's sons, Tom and Adam, to give a performance on violin and cello respectively. And, unlike last year, this year we actually remembered to attend.

After the recital Mr Flum and I wandered around the graveyard, noting (see in extra) a sharps bin for the safe disposal of needles used by drug users who frequent the secluded graves. How long this has been in place I cannot say, nor how often it is used, nor yet who has the unenviable task of emptying it but all credit to the Kirk for facing up to a social problem and protecting other visitors to the graveyard.
