From the Pier

Southwold camping trip day 5: disappointingly in accordance with the forecast, rain arrived yesterday afternoon, together with high winds. The patented tension band system that our tent boasts (nothing to get excited about honestly) seems to have done its job, but the kitchen extension has suffered and had to be taken down before it self destructed.

The girls were for some reason very keen to push 2p coins into machines at the pier and Beloved decided that her illness would be much improved by cake and tea. There was no arguing with that and fornuately, combining both activites was easily achieved in Southwold, so off we went. Personally, I failed to see the attraction of making money disappear, so I disappeared for a walk around the town and along the promenade.

The weather hadn't improved so we dined out and returned to find the tent, thankfully intact. Home tomorrow.
