Sisu Dallape bus

We had a walk in Kauppi forest after the rain stopped. This Dallape bus was parked to Rauhaniemi parking area. I googled its history and it turned to be very colourful!

The model Sisu S-322D was one of the first lorry and bus model series made by the Finnish heavy vehicle producer Suomen Autoteollisuus (SAT) in 1932–1934. The Sisu "Dallape" bus was made in 1933 and it had a lot of Volvo components.

On its first year the bus made a tourist trip to Italy. Unfortunately the tour operator made bankruptcy and the trip was interrupted. Angry passagers were brought home by the consul and the bus was retrieved from Warsaw.

In 1934 the bus was bought for a famous Finnish entertainment orchestra called Dallape and the bus was named according to the band. During the years 1934-1939 the Sisu bus drove Dallape orchestra to all possible dance halls in Finland.

In 1940 Dallape bus was bought by Tammela voluntary fire brigade. It was used as a fire fighting vehicle until 1970, when it's ownership was transferred to Helsingin Seudun Automobiiliklubi HAK (club for old vehicle owners)
