Puppy Love

Today was something of a red letter day, at least for my granddaughter, Justine as we were going off to Carnwath to visit the Hungarian Vizsla puppy (female) that we are getting as a replacement for Baxter. The whole of this week, while our grand children have been staying has been taken up with endless discussions about possible names for the puppy and as yet this still has to be decided. The pictures you see show the puppy and her siblings at about three weeks old when it is difficult to tell them apart and she will not be joining us until the beginning of September. She is the only female among a litter of seven puppies and the breeder showed us a litter of about twelve puppies who are about to move to their new homes this weekend. It is difficult to cast our minds back to when Zoe was a puppy but no doubt we are in for a major challenge and we are not sure yet how Zoe will react to the new arrival !

The weather today has been simply atrocious short sharp showers but some were so heavy that we almost had to stop driving. We stopped for lunch at the cafe at Restoration Yard in Dalkeith Country Park and fortunately the weather improved sufficiently for Justine & Emma to enjoy an hour's play at Fort Douglas. I was very impressed with this adventure playground development and it certainly is much cheaper than a day at East Links Family Centre.
