My corner of the world

An interesting challenge to the Blip Community - to post a photograph of a local place which would be of interest to visitors. Anyone who has stumbled across my journal may have noticed that I often post images of Hollingworth Lake, about 30 minutes walk from my home and to which I walk two or three times a week.

It is a reservoir, built to collect water for the nearby Rochdale Canal.  It is now an attraction for visitors with many features including a nature reserve, sailing and rowing clubs, water activities for young people, cafes, restaurants and pubs and a path around the Lake shore which is about 4km long. Nearby there are paths into the South Pennine hills, well used by walkers, mountain bikers and horse riders.

I have hundreds of photographs of the Lake during a solar eclipse, in the mornings and later in the day.
