Grosmont Castle
Today we sang motets by the likes of Victoria and Guerrero in Grosmont church (see blip here) under the baton of David Allinson - a workshop arranged by the Border Marches Early Music Forum (BMEMF). And a jolly good day it was, with a pretty good choir considering that it was open to anyone (who paid the requisite amount). But very chilly, which was a shame because, as you can see, it was glorious outside.
This is Grosmont Castle, and its probably 13th century octagonal chimney. I must say they must have had some particularly fine masons on the job that century, seeing how well it has survived while the rest of the castle lies ruined around it!
