Burn O'Vat near Dinnet

Burn O' Vat is a striking geological quirk, a deep bowl gouged from the surrounding rocks by the passage of water.

After the Orienteering today we decided to call into this Nature Reserve on the way home. It was very popular with visitors. Children were enjoying splashing in their wellies, the more intrepid scrambled up the waterfall and others took selfies.

The literature mentioned Queen Victoria visited from nearby Balmoral. No sign of the present Queen who I believe arrived on Monday.
