Craigievar

Today was the rest day so a more relaxed day was on the cards. The forecast was better in the morning so we planned our day accordingly.

We travelled to Craigievar Castle along with a number of other Orienteers. This caught the castle unawares as they had difficulty in coping with the numbers and had to call in extra help. The castle itself could only accommodate groups of 10 for a tour due to the small rooms and narrow staircases. However it was well worth the wait for the tour. The castle was completed in 1626 although the turrets were added at a later date.

Good job I took this shortly after arriving as the light was at its best.
