Clearwing hummingbird moth....
....that I saw in the park this morning. I was walking in the area left "wild" for the birds, butterflies, etc., when I saw it flying around. I don't know if it's a young one, or if they're all this small--as I've never seen one before-- but initially I thought it was a large wasp because it wasn't much bigger than that! When I realized it was a hummingbird moth I kept thinking, as I'm putting down my tripod: "don't fly away, don't fly away, don't fly away!" Haha! Apparently it could read my thoughts, as it stayed around long enough for me to get a couple of good shots (and a bunch of bad ones!) before it took off!
Huge thanks to Osuzanna for hosting the TinyTuesday challenges for August. :))
