Hazel leaves

As the we move in to autumn so the best light on sunny days seems to be earlier in the afternoon. It was streaming through the trees behind these hazel leaves near the canal when we walked the dogs today.

I should be packing for a fishing trip but I haven't been able to give it a thought this past week and it's suddenly arrived. This is a bit of an add-on when a couple of rods became available on a beat I don't know. I thought it might be nice to try it. I still haven't had my best rod repaired so I'm taking the stand-by. I'm also taking Pippa. I hope she'll be well enough behaved so that she doesn't run off.
