Cake!!

There's a birthday tomorrow, which must mean there's a cake to be made.  It was supposed to be made yesterday, but I didn't have sugar, which seems pretty poor planning on my part.  So we did it today..... the eldest helped, knowing exactly what the benefits would be.  We then had a mini-disaster, the eldest pored the remnants of a glass of juice over the cake as it cooled, thanks young man.... Another was made, pretty quickly as I congratulated myself of how nice it was that the boys were playing so quietly as I managed to get half the cake mixture all over the kitchen.

The boys, it turned out, were playing very nicely - with egg shells from the rubbish bin and they were ground into the carpet.  Never, ever trust quiet when it comes to children.  I know this, and yet I still fall foul of it.  

The cake's all done, the presents are wrapped, card written and balloons blown up, which can only mean that I may not be the most organised for this birthday, but there will, at least be a birthday.  Just need to pop to town tomorrow to get things needed for the birthday tea......
