Pretty Please!
Started having to wake everyone up! Then breakfast at the Toby. This has developed into a tradition our grandchildren love! Then home and they each made their own packed lunch. Then off to Brockholes, It's much bigger than it looks on the Map! The girls played very happily in the play area till it was lunch time, then back to the car for the picnic and we ate it near the buildings. A lovely day! The ducks came immediately they saw us but we resisted feeding them - there was a big notice to that effect. 12yo who was once bitten by a duck was not happy and 16yo walked away and looked on from afar! By now about 10 ducks showing great interest! As I was busy photographing Ro I hear a squeal next to me - a duck had pinched 9yo's sandwich! We had just about finished so we left the place!!
I went for a lovely walk with the girls to find the animals of the wild wood - The Gruffalo story and those of Wind in the Willows, and walked on to see the stone circle then back to find the men in the cafeteria!! Three hot chocolates and it had started to rain so we were homeward bound!
Salmon, vegetables and chips followed by those choc ices on a stick again. (couldn't leave the last five in the freezer could we!!) An evening of cards, Majong and Cover your assets. We still haven't decided what to do tomorrow!
Extra a pano of the river Ribble as seen from the bench near the stone circle! It really is a beautiful place with so many wild flowers!
