Diary of an Edinburgher

(Very) Late breakfast

I told the BT workmen this morning that we weren't happy with how they'd butchered our hedge, which was completely unnecessary. They suggested I speak to their 'gaffer' who happens to be on holiday for two weeks.

We went across town to Leith, which is a rather unpleasant bus journey, as it takes forever! Archie let out a wee yelp after 40 minutes or so - I nearly did too.

I had bought a breakfast voucher ages ago, and it was about to expire, so I had to make a booking for today, and the only time they could fit us in was 2pm. It was a brunch menu, but I couldn't resist (but should have) the vegetarian breakfast (extra).

Along the street were several really groovy looking cafes and pubs, all dog friendly. I wish they were a bit nearer!

We had a walk around Leith, and popped in for a teapot cocktail, but Archie wasn't allowed, which was probably just as well. He was allowed in another cafe where we had a wine, but we were just really putting off the long bus journey back through town. We took a different bus to give Archie a walk through the Meadows - he was such a good boy all day - long bus journeys and sitting in cafes is NOT his idea of a good day out. It's a dog's life.
