Day 7
Day 7 Clun to Runcorn. 80 miles. A very long ride but pretty flat with a tail wind so not too hard. In fact I found it easier than yesterday. We climbed out of the Shropshire Hills then descended to Shrewsbury for tea and cake. This was taken very early on when we stopped to nip over the gate for a quick pee.
The first 15 miles were climbing but easy and then it was mostly easy rolling quiet countryside all the way to Runcorn with just a few miles of traffic at the end.
The hotel has a swimming pool so quick shower and off for a dip. Also the chance to catch up with the daily laundry and use the changing room spinner instead of hotel towels to spin dry the cycling gear.
Feet much better today and hands. Sit bones ok, but a little tender, but it was knees today that hurt. Different day, different pain!
