A Morning Walk

Every once in a while...I have to return to my favorites. My favorite small animal? The squirrel. Favorite large animal? The moose. Favorite bird? The pelican. The problem? "I DON'T SEE MOOSE!! I DON'T SEE PELICANS!!" So...the squirrel it is.

The fine specimen in the center was looking for a handout. I had nothing to give. After posing for a few shots...he scampered off.

I walked 10 miles in my army boots, and my army backpack filled with 40 pounds of rocks. Actually...it was 3 miles, and I was never in the army. (That was a mini-tribute to a fellow blipper (click HERE to see who it was) who recently walked 10 miles. That's a long hike, and if I was wearing a hat...I'd tip it to her.)

A couple of comments about the surrounding photos. The church birdhouse is badly tilted, the dog by the fancy shrub made a mild rush at me, and I want one of those Jeeps. I had an old '79 model, and I miss it.

A song to finish...with my apologies to the President.

Hail to the Squirrel...the best in all the nation...
Hail to the Squirrel...we salute him, one and all.

Put into LARGE to get a look at the planet's most amazing animal.
