Korcula town, island of Korcula, Croatia

The weather was mixed today. In the morning, it was very hot (scorchula!) and we decided to visit the main town on the island using the town's bus service. The town of Korcula (see today's blip) is a peninsula which has been built by the many invading for es who have conquered the island over the centuries, notably the Venetians. It has some very pretty buildings in white local stone. The town's main claim to fame is arguably the link to Marco Polo who was said to have been born in the town in the 13th century.
The extra is some more aquatic sports which you can see from the balcony.
