OGH - Wedding Lawn
Just a couple of weeks ago, this lawn was surrounded by weeds. Already one of our volunteers has cleaned it up and it's looking much better already. the roses are Ice Berg, not heritage but make a stunning back drop for any bride lucky enough to get married in this setting.
The box balls need a good prune. I think I need someone good at topiary.
There is a bit of colour - the flowering quince looks pretty and in some of the garden beds there is a carpet of sweet violets. There are great clumps of Bergenia everywhere - but on such a damp miserable day most of the colour is washed out.
On 8th August we have 3 volunteers from the Rose Society coming up to prune the heritage roses. I'm going to be there - should learn something.
