Oamaru Mooring Harbour

Travelled up to Timaru this day to attend an uncles 80th birthday celebrations tomorrow. It was snowing and hailing when we left Dunedin. Stopped at Waitati for a coffee at the Blueskin Bay Nursery and by the time we were ready to get back on the road the sun was shining and the rest of the journey was a dottle.

Stopped in Oamaru to buy some bread from the artisan bakery in the old Victorian part of Oamaru and checked out the harbour whilst there. The snow storms forecast for this day were out to sea providing a fabulous backdrop to the wee boats moored out of harms way. Bloody cold though!!!

Bought some lovely breads including a very tasty walnut and currant bread to go with a fine light blue cheese picked up later from the Whitestone cheese shop further north. I do like good fresh food.

Arrived in Timaru and checked into our motel in time for a wee nana nap before joining everyone for tea and a catchup. Great to see the two Hunt boys back from Vietnam and USA for their fathers 80th. We were all teenagers when last we spent time together.
