Ullswater, Cumbria
Crossed the border today to walk in the Lake District.
First, though we had a sail from Glenridding to Howtown. Then we walked back along the banks of Ullswater to Glenridding. It was a very challenging 7.5 miles, a difficult path with lots of tree roots and very rocky at times. (see extra)
But we persevered! We were delighted to come upon the wee café at Grisedale, and were able to buy ourselves tea, coffee and magnums!!!
Had a wee break in the pub at Glenridding before the long run home.
We started the walk in heavy rain, but after about a mile or so the sun came out and stayed with us all day. We were lucky!!!!
