Anniversary

These "tube flowers" are grown everywhere in Malissard, particularly as "hedges", as they are across Provence. Indeed, I think it is this this species which features in Patrick Süskind's wonderful novel, "Perfume".

Vanille's owner called in this morning to say that she is still OK. Yesterday there was the somewhat embarrassing experience when she returned from holiday with two bottles of wine and tin of biscuits in thanks for looking after Vanille.

This evening we go out to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary!
