Trelissick Gardens, Feock
We had a lovely day wandering round the beautiful gardens here, particularly the Hydrangea Walk where there were many different varieties and colours everywhere you looked. I particularly liked a red lace cap variety 'Rotschwantz'. * My blip is of the conservatory end of the property, I couldn't jump the ha ha to get a good shot of the whole of the impressive front of the house though! I was envious of the beautiful planting of Agapanthus. I've got a large pot of them at home, they flowered nicely last year but I just have a pot full of abundant leaves this year.
After a tour of the ground floor of the house (the upper floors weren't open today as the main staircase isn't capable of bearing the weight of too many visitors at the moment!) and admired the stunning views from the front of the house we had a bite to eat in the café and then a steep walk down to the King Harry chain Ferry and took a ride over the stretch of the River Fal to Roseland and back again (just because you can!!).
Then it rained so we came home and took our hosts out for dinner. They were tired after their long drive from France so were more than ready for an early night, and after our non-stop exciting weekend with the LindyLulus, we were too!!
