From where I'm sitting

Spoilt for choice

After failing to take a decent shot of trees for the past few days, I have been utterly spoilt for choice this morning.

I had to take the car into Ampthill for a service. Normally I try to get in and out of Ampthill as quickly as possible - it's a nice enough little town, but has never seemed that remarkable - but having spent my afternoon reading Wolf Hall yesterday, I learned that Ampthill is where Henry VIII's first wife, Katherine of Aragon, spent some of her time while he was off getting his marriage to Anne Boleyn authorised. (Probably everybody knew this already - English history and geography has never been hot topics of mine!) So today I went with slightly more interest than usual, and took my camera. The little Gs and I spent a very happy time exploring the "tall tree woods" and playing at the park, and taking many many pictures of trees. This is actually the first shot of the morning, but I think it's just about my favourite. Still not the trees I wanted to blip earlier this weeks, but admirable (and much more impressive) substitutes nonetheless.

[The less said about the outcome of the car service, however, the better. Ouch!]
