Liz W.'s hydrangea
I visited John and Liz this afternoon bearing gifts of lettuce from our garden. I hadn't seen them for a while so it was good to have a chat and a cup of tea in their garden.
As I prepared to leave the sky darkened and it was only then that I noticed this hydrangea in a large pot on the patio quite close to where I was sitting. I went to the car to get my camera and then it started to lightly drizzle. the colours of the flowers were so vivid and with time I would have tried to catch the two other different hydrangea plants which had completely different colours and flower structures. But the elements were by now against me.
By the time I reached the car the sky had turned nearly black. I left with a bag full of long runner beans from their garden, so it was a good swap of produce.
