Aah!
Ate a reasonably substantial breakfast before leaving, recalling that I had somehow missed out on a proper meal at any point yesterday. Drove on northwards past the Lake District, admiring beautiful fells basking in the sunshine. Felt I wanted to see more hills so turned off at Moffatt to come back via the Grey Mare's Tail and Innerleithen, forgetting that this route should never be attempted on a Sunday. There were only a couple of Sunday (car) drivers but dozens of Sunday cyclists, and scores of Sunday motor-bikers. This on the sort of road that is liable to shred your tyres if you go too far over towards the verge......there was also the usual quota of wandering sheep, but they're an integral part of the scenery!
It was so good to come over the hill and see the Forth Valley spread out before me, and to know that I was only about half an hour short of getting home to Mr H and a cup of tea!
