Club

Got up rather earlier than was comfortable, but I had a long way to drive - back up the A38/M5/M6 till I reached J26 and checked in at a handy motel. Freshened up a bit and had a little lie-down before heading across to Bolton where I was doing an evening at the Socialist Club. The support act had apparently wimped out so I did a double stint. A small-ish but enthusiastic crowd - I think almost 50% of them must have bought a CD!  They said that several of their regulars were at Tolpuddle....

The club is venerable in the extreme, socialists having been organising themselves in Bolton since 1886 and in this venue since 1904.
