Corvallis Farmers' Market

We watched a wonderful performance last night...The Pianist of Willesden Lane. It is the story of one fourteen year old young woman who was sent alone from Vienna to London on the kindertransport  at the beginning of the second world war. It is a one woman performance by Mona Golabek also a concert pianist,, the true story of her mother's career as told in her book The Children of Willesden Lane.

Anne had a particular interest in the story since she lived on Willesden Lane years later when she did her midwifery training at University College Hospital in London.

Ozzie is still limping but seems to be perking up a bit with two canine companions to hang out with while we went to the farmers' market in town. The Gathering Together Farm not only has wonderful produce but also a good restaurant. They were almost out of produce by the time we goth there toward the end of the market.

We had quiche for lunch at Le Patisserie, a delicious bakery in town. Lovely. We went to a pet store to look for a way for Ozzie to get himself in and out of the car  without having to be lifted. We didn't succeed , but he seems to be slowly improving, so he may be able to get himself into the car. We're hoping he won't insist on standing all the way home and injuring himself all over again.

Harold took on my computer with corrupted software and was able to install a word processor which should have come with it but somehow disappeared. There were some tense moments as I attempted to remember long forgotten passwords and fulfill other demands that I consider unreasonable and that make me crazy. It's lovely to have an intermediary to talk to the tech service people.

Tomorrow Anne is making traditional Danish open faced sandwiches (smørrebrød). We have had them before and I can't wait....
