Grand Mosque
Last day of induction today. More class observations, teens will be teens, but they're a little more subdued than what I'm used to. Not a bad thing, just different. And the adults are quieter too.
Rang a couple more agents, more apartments to see on Saturday.
The highlight of the day was a visit to the Grand Mosque with InterNations. My late afternoon registration for the event was accepted and about 20 of us had a guided tour. And what a magnificent building it was. Very blue inside - beep blue and gold, and marble and crystal and mosaic tiles. The Emir's room was a little softer colourwise, but grand, nevertheless.
I met a German couple during the tour who'd been in Cairo for about the same period as me, and I joined them and a Brit who lives in Australia, for dinner. I think the German couple had seen pictures of the restaurant on Instagram. It was a Lebanese Armenian restaurant run by an Aussie as his Kuwaiti wife wanted to return home.
Coincidences everywhere!
The food and company were good, and promises to meet again were made.
