2017 Wednesday -- Kayak Surfing
Late this afternoon we decided to leave the pups in their crates and go out for awhile. We don't think Max is ready yet to go for a walk after his recent episode with what seemed like the stomach flu.
Mr. Fun talked about getting an ice cream cone, but $4 for an ice cream cone at the local ice cream parlor seemed ridiculous, especially when we could go to Schooner's and order a dark beer for $4, so we sat at the ocean facing bar at Schooner's Restaurant as we enjoyed our beverage and watched a kayaker riding the waves. We also watched several surfers toss their boards off the pier and then jump in themselves. It was fun sitting there with locals and vacationers while listening to the various conversations. It is a moment I would repeat every couple of weeks, but I seem to enjoy it more than Mr. Fun does.
I also managed today to find online a man who would go to our rental home in SoCal to give an estimate for fixing the sprinkler system and installing an inexpensive timer -- for some reason our property manager could not seem to get this problem solved and Mr. Fun has stressed excessively about this. I kept telling him to call this guy; when I finally suggested that he text the guy, he did and Jose the sprinkler man returned the text almost immediately and said he'd be glad to provide an estimate. Our little rental house is part of a HOA (homeowners association) and they are not at all happy that the little patch of front lawn is dead. If we don't get it fixed, they will fine us. The HOA is just one of the reasons we are hoping to sell the house.
That is how our Wednesday was,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
