Mucking around at kilt rock.
This is my friend S, whom I met on my first day at University back in '85.
That friendly cheeky grin was the same then too!
She lives in NZ now with her dairy farmer husband and 4 boys. I was a slow starter, when it came to kids, so my eldest is ages with her youngest.
We have been trying to catch up for years in NZ or Oz, but instead it was somehow easier when we were both in Scotland. My visit overlapped the end of her #2 son's visit and he has grown into a fine young man, looking so much like his dad at the same age!
For the record, we were at Kilt Rock on the Isle of Skye. It was a beautiful day of talking, laughing, and of sharing joy and sadnesses - all the while surrounded by the stunning beauty of a rare sunny blue day on Skye. I had total "location envy".
The problem with making cliff formations into a tourist attraction is that it involves folk leaning over the cliffs to see them. We decided that we had seen basalt columns before, so didn't earnestly engage in viewing these ones. (Sorry about that, Scottish Tourist Board!)
