Market Fruit
It seems no matter how far we travel from Mexico we cannot help doing things that are familiar, such as shopping a Farmer's Market. Granted, there are a great many differences between shopping the markets of Mexico and the markets of Southern California, but one thing remains constant - the desire to sell the freshest fruit and vegetables. As in Mexico, the vendors display the fruit to entice the passing shoppers. Here in SoCal they also provide samples. One could leave the market quite full and never spend a dime. We on the other hand left with lots of fresh fruits, though none of the pomegranates shown here, but quite a few fewer dollars to our name. That is another big difference, the price of quality produce is a great deal higher in the United States than where we live.
