First flower
Managed to get up to the allotment today - in the sunshine, even! D found a very sad thing in one of the bird feeders, but I couldn't even bring myself to look at it, let alone photograph it.
So you have instead the very first flower on the Painted Lady runner bean plants. Pretty flowers, on a variety that's been known since at least 1855 apparently. I wonder what type of painted lady the grower was thinking of when choosing the name back then ;-) ?
