Drachenschlucht - Eisenach

We did a splendid walking tour-roughly 12 km - from Hohe Sonne via Drachenschlucht to Wartburg and back again. The extra shows the Wartburg, famous for St. Elisabeth who did her charity work there. Martin Luther translated the Bible into German in his exile on the Wartburg.
And in 1817 - 300 years after Luther's posting of his theses in Wittenberg - German student fraternities gathered on the Wartburg to proclaim a protest note against reactionary politics in the small German states at that time. So the Wartburg is still today a national symbol.
