Delightful

.... day today. She worked hard practising at home before school and we walked in the sunshine. It was Sports Day this morning. They have a big procession of the countries and this year she was flag bearer for her team (China). She looked super proud. She came second in three of her four track events. She did well in the field with several golds and a couple more silver but she got quite fed up of that part of proceedings. In large part because she knew as soon as it was over I was going to be taking her home! I've got some great shots of her in the sack race and the hurdles plus a brilliant standing jump shot but she said she wanted me to blip something about the festival "because I liked that better".

I'd said she could be a home dinner as I was there anyway and the plan was to pick her up for the festival. So we had a house picnic with granny and grandad before we got her ready for Piano Day. She was great, she announces so confidently and played her piece really well. She actually got the same score as her clarinet performance yesterday but today that earnt her second.

So how does the beach shot relate to the festival? Well, after the festival we headed to the beach! We passed the kids splash pool and she said "we can look at that on the way back", pretty much climbing in "just to check it" as she said the words! She was of course soaked in minutes. The only clothes (apart from her performance dress!) I had were a tutu, a too small top and her winter coat! Turns out that was fine by her....

We ended our glorious day with chippy tea on the seafront before heading to musical theatre with the munchkin. It felt almost like a weekend today, wonderful!
