Welsh Marches

We are driving over to Wales today for a mini break.  I pulled into a lay-by for a brief pause and was taken with the way these thistles were standing alone and proud in front of such an open landscape.  They reminded me of the candelabra cacti that stand up in the Mexican plains but on a much smaller scale.
