Breakey Blips

It's good to be beside the seaside

Billy Connoly famously said that Aberdeen is gaelic for hypothermia. On a day like this, "strolling" the beach promenade in the pouring rain, he might just be on to something!
This is Mrs R, with whom I went to school over 30 years ago. She used to gently tease me, as a boarder, about living in the jungles of Malaysia. That was quite ironic when, as a newly wed, she ended up living a few streets away from my folk's old house in Sarawak.

Despite both of us travelling the world, we have kept in touch and snatched brief visits together for years. Over time, she even took my younger two with her to various play groups with her boys, whilst I attended meetings in the same city.

When David was sick, she and some other friends provided a support "conversation" through FB Messenger. None of us expected the terrible, speedy outcome when they agreed to do it, but they hung in there.

So, this time, I didn't need to bring her up to date, but instead loved our 24 hours of teenager talk, wine, and knitting inspirations!

Thank you Mrs R, you're a gem!
