Launch of the Apollos
This morning I went off the beaten track and found myself sitting on lines of chunky scree on a hillside of alpine flowers observing these large, fast, butterflies. (They are on the INCN red list of threatened species). There was no point in approaching them, they took off immediately so I waited and was eventually rewarded. The extra shows an older specimen with orange eyespots which fade with age. What an honour to see so many of these. Only 2 more have ever been published on Blip.
