Skiddaw Ascent

Climbed Skiddaw for the first time today. Been coming to the Lakes for about 30 years but I've never felt the need to climb it. Have now done all the 'biggies' in the lakes, not that I really care much for ticking them off.
It's not the most exciting climb, but the view back towards the mountains of Borrowdale is spectacular. Unfortunately this was the last we saw of it - the rain swept in, the wind picked up and it was heads-down to the top.
Had to hold onto the kids extremely tightly at the top - the wind was blowing at about 70mph and was not much fun. Didn't linger!
Made it back in one piece and had a well-earned cake in Keswick.
