Kellister

Well the fine spell of sunshine has gone.  It's mostly been cloudy all day, with a few brief sunny spells.  It was dry, until the showers came in this evening.

Day off work, and got out with Sammy after breakfast.  I had to pop to town to use the archives before lunchtime.  The afternoon was spent out in the hills with Sammy.  I've had friends over this evening for a cuppa.  I'll try more walkies later, but in the meantime, a date with the sofa.

Even though it wasn't sunny, me and Sammy still enjoyed a walk in the hills today.  I've been wanting to come to this old croft houses at Kellister for a while now.  Located in heather and fern rugged hills, and this fine green fertile grass around the croft.  Grandad's friend Gibbie Fraser told me stories of the old men that used to stay here, and he used to visit them when he was young, then abandoned in early 1950s.  Taken at Kellister, West Burrafirth, with the Loch of Kellister below.
