The wonder of nature
A couple of weeks ago I Blipped some cuttings of the Nepalese Begonia hatacoa that had rooted in water. These are now all potted up and growing away well.
At the same time, as an experiment, I popped three leaves, complete with petioles (leaf stalks), into water. They rooted too, though they took longer than the cuttings, and I wondered whether I would simply have rooted leaves, with no means of growing into plants. A few days ago, however, I noticed some small buds appearing at the base of the petioles, so the means to grow into plants has arrived. Here they are, greatly magnified.
