Butterflies

I always thought spring was the time for this kind of thing but it seems the insects around here are getting in for one last breeding period before the winter. Yesterday's dragonfly laying eggs and now today it was the butterfly's turn for a reproductive display.

From what I have observed, the female butterfly lands on a plant and raises her tail and the males just fly in and attach themselves. This lady must have been particularly attractive as she had three (or more) males closing in.

In other news, tonight some time, I will hit 500,000 views of my journal. I am flabbergasted. I'll try to catch the moment so I'll have an easy blip for tomorrow.
