Garter Snake....

....as found in the stack of fire wood by two of my nephews today! They wanted to catch it, but I kept telling them to wait and let me get some pictures first--thank goodness they're used to me doing that, so they kept herding the snake back toward where I was. I dithered between this one and the one in the extra, so posted them both. I thought the one in the extra is just plain creepy--like some kind of horror snake sticking it's head up before it sinks it's fangs into you! (well, these don't have fangs nor are they poisonous, and it's not very big, but I'm just saying......)    :))
