The Big Bang!
Milwaukee is known for it's many summer festivals, the largest being the one going on now through the 10th. of July, known as Summerfest. One of the highlights of Summerfest is always "The Big Bang", which "features more than 10,000 pounds of fireworks, with 5,000 igniters lighting more than 20,000 shells". It was a truly spectacular fireworks display, lasting almost 45 minutes! Some of the downtown buildings are in the pictures, which makes it look like we were close to them, but we were actually some 3-3.5 miles away as the crow flies. One of the perks of living so close to the Lake is that we only had to drive about 2 minutes from our house & we stood up on the bluffs to watch the display. ( I put 2 more in the extras--can't ever have too many fireworks!! Ha!)
