AAHHH..... Choo!

The day was horribly hot and humid, and my brief trip into the garden left me wet from head to toe and in desperate need of a shower.  Until you have experienced a D.C. summer, it is hard to describe how unbearable the humidity and heat can be. 

The Helenium is blooming and that’s always a good place to find some variety of sweat bee.  This little critter is only about 1/2 in inch long.  Is it any wonder that the other name for Helenium is “Sneezeweed?”
