From the 8th floor

A busy spell for us, all packed up and ready to drive down to Southampton today for a family wedding! Hubs sisters youngest son is marrying his long time partner Emma...theyve only been together 17 years ;-)

We set off at 10.50, quickly filled up with fuel, picked up daughter and off we went! Not the best journey, it was always going to be longer than normal, being friday an all! We checked into our hotel some some six hours later :-(
The P&O cruise ship Arcadia was in dock and clearly visible from our hotel window :-)

After a quick freshen up we met youngest and his wife in reception, plus daughters friend....sadly middle son and his wife had to stay home as Olivia hasnt been well :-( We walked the short distance to the new West Quay and met up with hubs sister, three of their children, spouses and children...making 20 in all, to celebrate James's birthday, a day early, as its actually tomorrow, the day of his brothers wedding.

We enjoyed pizza and pasta dishes with a couple of drinks, nothing too much .......that is likely to follow tomorrow ;-) The youngsters that is :-)

Hope we sleep well....certainly feeling tired after such a long drive. Looking forward to seeing everyone in their glad rags tomorrow.
